Abstract:

After Jewish-American reggae singer Matisyahu boldly snuffed attempts to have him banned from the Rototom Sunsplash festival, it has become known that media mogul Oprah Winfrey also turned away a BDS request earlier this month.

The New York Post revealed Sunday that a BDS “delegation” showed up at her magazine’s offices, carrying a letter urging her to publicly reject Israeli jeweler Lev Leviev’s products.

Abstract:

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey was among this month’s targets of BDS pressure, the New York Post reported on Sunday. But the TV network owner, best known for her world-famous talk show, refused even to meet with the representatives of Adalah-NY, an advocacy group focused on boycotting Israel and Israeli products, who showed up at the New York offices of her magazine, “O,”  bearing a letter they wished her to sign, publicly rejecting the products of Uzbeki-Israeli billionaire “King of Diamonds” Lev Leviev.

Abstract:

For years, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement has worked to make Israel an international pariah. Happily, it’s started seeing some serious pushback.

No less than Oprah Winfrey stood up to the thugs, too. A BDS “delegation” showed up at her magazine’s New York offices this month, carrying a letter urging Oprah to publicly reject Israeli jeweler Lev Leviev’s products.

Abstract:

The Boycott Israel’s BDS (Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions) efforts continue to advance on campuses and in Europe.

It’s not certain, though, that this video will contribute much positively to that momentum.

What’s interesting is that SodaStream, in addition to promoting coexistence when its factories were in the West Bank, has now moved all of its facilities into pre-1967 Israel – only to be targeted by the BDS movement.

This will not be lost on other Israeli companies as they decide how to proceed with locating their production facilities.
