Palestinians and Israelis on 1948 and the Right of Return

Please Join Adalah-NY: The Coalition for Justice in the Middle East, for a presentation by Mohammad Jaradat and Eitan Bronstein on the Nakbah (Palestinian Catastrophe) in the process of acknowledging the past of human rights abuses in Palestine and moving forward to a just future.

Mohammad Jaradat is a Palestinian activist and co-founder of Badil Resource center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, established in 1998. Badil takes a rights-based approach to the Palestinian refugee issue through research, advocacy and promoting the participation of refugees themselves.

Eitan Bronstein is a Jewish Israeli educator, activist, and Director of the Israeli organization, Zochrot. Founded in 2002, Zochrot seeks to educate Jewish Israelis about al-Nakbah, the Arabic word for "catastrophe" which refers to the 1948 displacement and dispossession of Palestinians.

Remembering Deir Yassin

Acknowledging the past; Imagining the future:
Palestinians and Israelis on 1948 and the Right of Return

Please Join Adalah-NY: The Coalition for Justice in the Middle East, in commemorating the sixtieth anniversary of the massacre of Deir Yassin, on April 9th, 1948. Mohammad Jaradat of Badil and Eitan Bronstein of Zochrot will discuss the importance of Deir Yassin and the Nakbah in acknowledging past human rights abuses in Palestine as a necessary step for moving towards a just future . There will also be a performance by Al-Nujoom Dabkeh Troupe and a fashion show of Palestinian traditional dress. Food will be served.
